Andretti Global Breathing New Life into Former IndyStar Printing Facility
Indianapolis continues to prove it’s the place where legacy, innovation, and global ambition intersect. This summer, Andretti Global will begin operations in its new headquarters at the former Indianapolis Star Pulliam Production Center at 8278 Georgetown Road—transforming a piece of local history into a high-tech, high-performance motorsports hub.
The 240,000-square-foot facility—once home to massive printing presses and daily newspaper runs—is being reimagined to house Andretti Global’s NTT IndyCar, Indy NXT, and Formula E teams. With renovations beginning soon, the site will feature everything from a fitness center and pit-stop performance zone to modern gathering and dining spaces, reflecting the team’s emphasis on both technological excellence and employee wellbeing.
As Jill Gregory, President of Andretti Global, noted, “The former printing press facility provides a unique opportunity… with both preexisting office and industrial space under one roof.” This type of adaptive reuse not only honors Indianapolis’ past, but also speaks to the city’s future—where competitive sports, advanced manufacturing, and global investment go hand in hand.
The facility, owned by Industrial Realty Group, represents more than just a real estate deal. It’s a signal of confidence in Indianapolis as a home for world-class operations and a workforce ready to meet the demands of elite-level motorsports. With redevelopment led by Chicago-based Bradford Allen Development and ABEL Construction Co., and design by Merriman Schmitt Architects, this project continues to attract talent and capital from across the country.
This move comes as Andretti Global parent company TWG Global prepares for its entry into Formula One and develops a new 400,000-square-foot campus near the Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport in Fishers. The Georgetown Road site gives the team a critical home base in the heart of Indianapolis—while the Zionsville Road facility, their current headquarters, is set to welcome Arrow McLaren Racing later this year.
Indianapolis Economic Development is proud to support projects like these that enhance our city’s global profile, create high-quality jobs, and demonstrate our readiness for reinvestment in all corners of the city. From legacy print to precision racing, 8278 Georgetown Road is shifting into a new gear—and so is Indianapolis.
